AIM OF THE AWARD

Major Sponsor

Other Sponsors

It is increasingly seen that no matter how benevolent, a government alone cannot provide all the needs of its citizenry. The development of the economy of any nation is therefore perceived as the joint responsibility of the government, the citizenry, and corporate entities operating within its boundaries. This statement is just as true for a state.

At Dominio Reino Foundation (DFR) we have observed from our experience, that not enough effort has been made to direct the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of the corporate entities to areas where more impact can be derived. It appears that the aim of some CSR activities is merely for Public Relation purposes, not to achieve any real socio- economic benefit. There are many reasons for this unfortunate situation. However, a number of these corporate entities have demonstrated very innovative and effective application of CSR to solving some pressing socio- economic challenges.

At our upcoming award event in 2012, tagged "Dominio Reino Foundation Excellence Award in Corporate Social Responsibility" we shall be inviting nationally acclaimed authorities to demystify the concept of CSR. Areas to be covered include:

  • CSR Policy and Strategy
  • CSR Sustainability audits and benchmarking.
  • Stakeholder engagement.
  • CSR sustainability reporting.
  • CSR and environmental issues.
  • Enabling legal and regulatory framework for CSR.
  • CSR and corporate philosophy.

This event shall be preceded by a well planned comprehensive publicity and mobilization campaign.

The Aim of this event is to:

  • Shed some light on the concept of CSR and the need to "give back" to the society.
  • To recognize and appreciate organizations that has shown an above-average commitment to CSR.
  • To encourage other organizations to emulate the awardees by enhancing the effectiveness of their own CSR activities.
  • To promote the idea that every organization, regardless of size, can develop a CSR policy.
  • To recognize individuals also who have selflessly pursued the desire to give back to our communities for the benefit of mankind.
  • To accelerate the socio-economic development of our communities.
