Individual Social ResponsibilitiesDDC is currently championing a program very dear to our heart called INDIVIDUAL SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY [ISR], this project is tagged [giving back …]. A vessel we use in promoting the need for individuals to give back to their local communities. It is increasingly seen that no matter how benevolent, a government alone cannot provide all the needs of its citizenry. The development of the economy of any nation is therefore perceived as the joint responsibility of the government, the citizenry, and corporate entities operating within its boundaries. This statement is just as true for a state. Community Development through indigenes can change lives and even affect generations yet unborn. For example, a scholarship scheme to as few as five (5) people can change destinies tied to these recipients. Likewise investing in a girl-child will help empower women, thus promoting gender-equality; curb abuses, unwanted pregnancies & prostitution. It is of great importance that women in the rural areas are empowered for the well being of most families, because there are strong cases against the men who only use their money to drink and father other children they have no intention of supporting. We also help to organize widows into very strong social groups & networks capable of resisting some disheartening cultural traits especially from the late husband’s family, and even offer free legal aid & police protection when necessary. To this end, we design programs & projects bearing in mind this school of thought to help eliminate poverty, abuse & silent restiveness within these regions.
